Plot Summary

Sofia and Josh, an American couple living in Colombia whose marriage is falling apart. Sofia is a successful and determined businesswoman, while Josh struggles with feelings of insecurity and resentment. Their relationship has become strained by infidelity, emotional distance, and constant arguments. Hoping to finalize a business deal before ending their marriage, the two travel together to Bogotá for what may be one of their last shared experiences as a couple. After attending a tense business meeting, Sofia and Josh decide to take a guided trip through a remote jungle area.

Their journey quickly turns dangerous when armed attackers suddenly ambush the group. In the chaos, Sofia and Josh escape into the rainforest, but while trying to flee they accidentally step into a hidden patch of quicksand. Within moments, they begin sinking into the mud with no clear way out. At first, the couple panic and blame one another for their situation. Their arguments reveal the deep emotional wounds that have damaged their marriage for years. Josh accuses Sofia of prioritizing her career over their relationship, while Sofia confronts Josh about his dishonesty and lack of direction in life. However, as the quicksand slowly pulls them deeper, survival becomes more important than anger.

They realize they must cooperate if they want any chance of escaping. The jungle around them presents constant threats. Venomous snakes, insects, dehydration, and the possibility of predators create an atmosphere of relentless tension.
