Plot Summary

Disgraced military contractor Brian Gilcrest returns to the lush landscapes of Hawaii, a place that represents both his greatest successes and his most painful failures. He arrives under the employ of eccentric billionaire Carson Welch, a man whose public goal is to establish a state-of-the-art space center but whose private ambitions are far more shadow-drenched. Gilcrest, once a rising star in the Air Force whose career imploded during a botched deal in Afghanistan, is tasked with a delicate diplomatic mission: negotiating a land blessing with Native Hawaiian leaders for Welch’s new launch site.
